This meeting's agenda is a discussion of the results of the Tri-County Job Fair held last Thursday
at William Jessup University.
A lot of our members attended this event. 
This will be a discussion on "Lessons Learned" and how to improve your results.
Last week Andrew Franklin discussed a strategy for maximizing your results from attending job fairs.
We will discuss our results from the various points presented last week.
We will also critique a resume, a T-type cover letter, and a leave behind.

Strategy for Attending a Job Fair
 
Andrew Franklin will facilitate a meeting on developing a strategy for getting maximum value for a job fair.  This meeting will include a mock interview with a target company’s representative.
He will discuss:
Developing a strategy.  For State and private companies.
Developing a Plan of Action.
Psyching your self up for the job fair.
Identifying your target companies.

We are focusing on content "above the fold".
We are focusing on developing short and powerful statements for the summary and accomplishments sections.

We will critique, as a group, several member's resumes and cover letters.
We will focus on content "above the fold" and what member's think.
This will focus on developing short and powerful statements.
Professional Development Section will focus on articles on keeping a positive attitude and its effect on the brain and keeping yourself organized.

Andrew wrote an article on challenges of teambuilding for the Hackjournal.
He will discuss this articleand  some of the common areas of conflict on teams and how to avoid them.

Everyone is expected to be a good team player but those who think about the team
and how to work with it will be better team players.

He will also mention the DISC personality assessment and encourage members
to take it so they know where they are on a team and how to influence others.

Keeping motivated and on track is a common complaint of most job seekers.
We will review several articles mainly from Tony Robbins dealing with these issues.

We will also review the results of our workshop, "Getting Started in the Job Search" held last Thurs at the North Natomas Library.  We will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each session noting the important points and what needed to be improved.

We have our orientation "Getting Started in your Job Search" scheduled this coming Thursday July 14th, at the North Natomas Library.  This is an all day event starting at 9:30AM until 3:30PM.
This is free to all attendees.
This Tuesday meeting's agenda will be reviewing the orientation's material for the afternoon sessions.  We are updating the presentation with current best practices and discussing content and goals with the facilitators.

This is open to the public.
It is a full day workshop.
This workshop gives the job seeker a tool kit of best practices and information needed to navigate today's job market.
Attendees who have resumes are encouraged to bring them.  We will review them.  Those that don't will get templates and handouts on resume best practices.

We are in the process of scheduling an Orientation Class for new members and members
who have not taken the class.
The agenda for this meeting is to review the Orientation material and discuss updates needed.
This will go through the complete job search cycle and discuss best practices.
Everyone should benefit from this review. 
We also have a resume, a cover letter, and a statement of qualifications to critique.

Members need to sign up for the DISC Personality Assignment and take the test.
