Success Story: Chris Levis Lands in Biotech

Printer-friendly versionWe are pleased to announce that on May 5, 2011, Sacramento Professional Network (SPN) member Chris Levis began a new job as Western Regional Sales Manager with Bar Harbor Biotechnology. Bar Harbor manufactures kits used in the analysis of DNA for research and clinical product development.

For Chris, the bewilderment of losing a long-held job was greatly eased when he joined SPN.

"Anyone who has had the experience of being laid off after many years of professional life knows those uncomfortable feelings of uncertainty, doubt, disappointment, and even fear of the future. Having been in that situation for the first time, I found Sacramento Professional Network to be a valuable resource; it helped me focus my efforts in the new and demanding world of job hunting. The process is challenging and scary, but SPN helps alleviate that fear by encouraging the new job seeker to refine resume and interviewing skills, as well as identify marketable skills. SPN also focuses on the all-important skill of networking, a process I will continue to refine as I advance my career in the biomedical sciences. I am grateful to all those at SPN who devoted their time and talents in helping me during a very difficult time in my professional life.
